Givry wines are produced around the small village of Givry (between Mercurey and Montagny) and in the three hamlets of Poncey, Cortiambles and Russilly. The brown calcareous or calcic soils resulting from the weathering of Jurassic limestones give rise to an appellation often compared to Volnay. Pair with grilled red tuna, tataki beef, terrines (rabbit, pork, etc ...), moussaka, calf's liver, Burgundy fondue, steak tartare, roast veal, veal chop, duck breast salad, baked guinea fowl, pasta cheeses hard.
