Bodegas Avancia Cuvée de O Godello 2015Bodegas Avancia is located in the mountains next to El Barco de Valdeorras, in the province of Orense, Galicia in the northwest Spain. The grapes from the Godello Vineyards are located on the mountain slopes in terraces at 450 meters above sea level. The steep hillside vineyards provide an excellent location to capture the sun. The soil is composed of metamorphic slate and quartz. Godello is an ancient variety from the area that was saved by a handful of producers who began farming it again in the 1970's and brought back to commercial production in the early 2000's. Strong Atlantic climatic influences support Godello and help give it natural acidity and structure. The grapes are hand harvested from vineyards planted in 1975, put into small baskets to prevent bruising. 40% of the grapes are fermented in large format neutral French Oak casks, no malo-lactic fermentation, aged for six months on the lees.
Orin Swift Machete 2015A brooding hue and viscous consistency, powerful aromas of crème de cassis, boysenberry, and ripe cherries are complemented by a soft minerality and hints of dark chocolate. The entry is smooth with dark plums and a charred meatiness that floods to create a velvety texture that lingers.
Ancien Carneros Chardonnay 2013This Chardonnay introduces itself with opulent aromatics of honeysuckle, melon, Asian pear, and fig accented with ripe apples and tangerine zest. Chalky, wet stone adds nuance, overlaid with decadent creme brulee and brioche. Intense palate weight and luscious fruit tannins fill the mid-palate, finishing with mouth-filling minerality. Citrus flavors are intermixed with notes of peaches, lychee, and kiwi. Toasted biscotti, freesia and lemon notes liven the palate, leading into a long, layered, and complex finish. The tannins, minerality, and clean acidity that are the calling card of Old Wente Chardonnay are in full display.
Foxen Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2014Our most fruit forward Pinot Noir, the pinot for this bottling comes most prominently from our five-acre Pommard Clone section of our Block 8 at Bien Nacido. In addition, we also blended into it a bit more from some of our other favorite blocks at Bien Nacido, Riverbench and Solomon Hills Vineyards. This wine was bottled after ten months in second-year French barrels to preserve its bright red, summer fruit flavors and spice components.
Tournesol Sauvignon Blanc Semillon Blend 2013Very pale straw color with green hues reflecting the youthful character of this wine. Aromas of zesty lemon-lime, lemongrass, fresh melon, and basil. Sweet citrus on the palate of ruby red grapefruit, starfruit, and yellow peach. This is a dry Sauvignon Blanc with bright acidity and a great body to match. Enjoy with a wide range of cheeses and charcuterie or match the freshness with sushi! Serve chilled.
Sean Minor Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby color with aromas of ripe blackberry, red and black currants. Once in your mouth, flavors of blackberries and ripe plum fill the mid-palate, entwined with black currant, mocha and black pepper, providing for a full-bodied and rich wine experience. The soft tannins and sweet oak balance lead to a long and lingering finish. WINEMAKING NOTES: Grapes from sites throughout Napa Valley were harvested at optimal maturity, then de-stemmed and gently crushed into open-top stainless steel fermenters, at warm temperatures, to fully extract color and flavor. The fermented wine then was racked to a combination of French and American oak for aging of which 10% was new. During the aging process the wine lots were tasted throughout and blended back together just before bottling. -
Tenuta Sant'Antonio Scaia Garganega Chardonnay 2015Colour: pale straw yellow with greenish glints. Aroma: white acacia and jasmine flowers, bouquet of citrus fruits such as grapefruit, orange and pineapple, apple, pear and mango and a light touch of banana. Flavour: fresh and agreeable with a sustained acidity. Well-balanced softness and tang make it both inviting and intriguing.
Chateau Musar Red 20072007 was a good year for the Cinsault which displayed red berry and concentrated cherry fruits, reminiscent of Amarone. As the Cabernet Sauvignon rested in vats, it showed intense coffee bean aromas and ripe fruit, typical of a warmer vintage. Nearly 7 years on, upon its' release in the spring of 2014, the wine is showing impressive aromas of blueberries, ripe blackberries, cherries and plum fruitcake. The palate is initially soft and round with primary fruits of blackberry, plum, red cherries and pomegranate with some chocolaty spicy notes in the background. It opens up with mouth filling berry fruit and delicious notes of concentrated dark fruits and molasses. It really begins to impress in the mid palate where it holds its' intensity and structure effortlessly all the way to the end. The alcohol is well integrated with elegant but youthful tannins - it is a well-balanced wine with good underpinning acidity and a compelling structure.

Brouwerij Boon Oude Geuze Mariage Parfait 375mlThe soft, mildly sour berry taste, harmonises with the oak barrels' aromas in which Geuze Mariage Parfait has ripen. The body speaks of vanilla followed by a bitter aftertaste of cloves that becomes increasingly intense. Sublime. It consists of 95% mild lambic, aged at least three years and specially reserved for this purpose, and 5% young lambic. The latter provides the fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. After mixing in a vessel of 25,000 litres, the wort (unfermented mixture) is filtered and chilled. If we are bottling, we bring it back to fermentation temperature. The bottles are placed in a climate-controlled space for the secondary fermentation. This is followed by maturing at low temperature for at least 6 months. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the "best before" date!
Brouwerij Boon Oude Geuze Boon 375mlTaste carefully and you will uncover a fruity grapefruit and ginger flavour with a hint of Muscat grapes. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the wholehearted body and the sublime finish - an explosion of Germanic and Romance cultures. It's a magnificent blend of 90% mild 18 month-old lambic, 5% strong 3 year-old beer and 5% very young lambic, which provides fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. All our beers are aged in oak casks, mixed in a vessel of 25,000 litres and chilled. Before bottling, we bring the mix to fermentation temperature. The bottles are then placed in an air-conditioned room, which leads to a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This is when the lambic becomes gueuze. After several months of aging in the bottle, the gueuze develops its delicate flavour. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the "best before" date!
Weihenstephaner Vitus Weizenbock 500mlOur light-coloured, spicy single-bock, "Vitus" is saturated with fine yeast and a creamy foam. It is a specialty with a round character based on the extra long storage time. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.
