Wonderful butter and toasted oak aromas start this full-bodied wine off nicely, before vivid Pippin apples, lemon zest and pineapples kick up the palate. It shows a vibrancy and balance that are appetizing and bode well for further aging. Best through 2030.

Delivers lime zest, white peach and Asian pear flavors that are focused, fresh and crisp, with dried ginger, yuzu and Fuji apple accents. Shows good concentration, with plenty of elegance on the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2033. 2,520 cases made.

As with the 2021 vintage, the 2020 Chardonnay Fort Ross-Seaview was sourced from Charles Ranch and pours a medium silver straw hue. In the glass, it initially is a touch more reserved aromatically before starting open up, when it reveals a palate of layers, with a touch of flinty wet stone, saline, melon and pithy citrus, ripe lime, and fresh flowers, as well as a delicate smokiness. Medium to full-bodied, with ripe fruit, including pithier citrus and a tropical touch of quince, it has a long finish. Drink it over the next 4-6 years.

The 2020 Chardonnay (Fort Ross-Seaview) is laced with white orchard fruit, chalk, mint, sweet oak and white flowers. Nervy and light in body, the Fort Ross-Seaview Chardonnay is a fine choice for enjoying over the next 3-4 years.
