Light pomegranate aromas are enlivened by dank herbs and cracked pepper on the nose of this bottling. The palate lands with a tart, brisk cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry combination, as underlying herbs add depth.

The 2020 Pinot Noir (Santa Maria Valley) is a very pretty, appellation-level wine. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice and dried herbs are nicely lifted. There's lovely aromatic presence, but the wine's balance feels a bit fragile and a touch ethereal. I would prefer to drink this over the near and medium term.

Moving to the reds, the 2020 Pinot Noir is a decent introduction to the wines of this estate and has a spicy, complex, earthy style as well as medium-bodied richness and depth. It's a juicy, balanced effort that will drink well for 3-4 years. This was destemmed and spent 10 months in neutral barrels.
