Opolo Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
|Region||California, Central Coast, Paso Robles|
Rich black cherry, vanilla and dark loamy soil make for a very fruity but pleasant entry to the nose of this bottling. There is a streak of candied black cherry on the palate but lots of tannic stiffness as well, with baking spice, pie crust and acidity carrying into the finish.
Brilliant magenta. Pungent dark berry and cherry aromas pick up an herbal aspect as the wine opens up. Shows good energy and tight focus on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors and a touch of roasted coffee. Clings nicely on the finish, which is framed by dusty, late-arriving tannins.
