Penner-Ash Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2015
|Region||United States, Oregon, Willamette Valley|
Expressive and refined, with pretty raspberry and lavender aromas and tightly focused blackberry and spiced cinnamon flavors that lead toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2023. 9,100 cases made.
Dark red. Spice-tinged blackberry and cherry aromas are complicated by sassafras, cola and allspice nuances. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering juicy red and dark berry and spicecake flavors along with suggestions of mocha and candied flowers. Finishes with strong, spicy punch, gentle tannins and strong, dark-berry-driven tenacity.
Production of this cuvée has increased dramatically under the winery's new ownership, making it widely available. It's smooth and balanced, with mixed red fruit flavors cut with an herbal edge. The finish is tart and tight, calling for a hearty decant before serving.
