Vietti Barolo Ravera 2014
|Region||Italy, Piedmont, Barolo|
Wine SpectatorCherry, raspberry, rose, anise and tobacco aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this rich red. The core of fruit is well-supported by dense, refined tannins and vibrant acidity. Shows excellent balance and length. Seemingly built to age. Best from 2022 through 2043. 568 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastAromas of truffle, dark spice, chopped mint and whiffs of oak lead the nose. It's austere and rather lean, showing dried cherry, clove and a hint of rust alongside assertive, close-grained tannins that leave a drying finish. Give the tannins several more years to unwind then drink sooner rather the later to capture the remaining fruit. Drink 2021-2029.
