Freemark Abbey Sycamore Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Partner-owned Sycamore Vineyard, located at the cusp of Rutherford and Oakville, is the source for this deeply rich wine. Always very dark colored and rich with the aromas of dark cherries, cloves, cedar and forest floor, it is blended with Cabernet Franc and Merlot for complexity and balance. This wine is further set apart with an exceptional aging period of three years in French oak barrels. Rich mouth feel with the flavors following through on the nose. Ripe plums, prunes, dark chocolate, black pepper on the finish. A wine to savor for years to come!

Wine EnthusiastA dry-smelling wine, with hints of cinnamon, pine bark, eucalyptus and earth, that unfold slowly on the palate to reveal bright red cherries and berries. It's big and it's structured, yet finishes smooth and silky, blending in coffee and tea notes. Approachable now, but better after 2005.
