Dinastia Vivanco Rioja Reserva 2008
Wine SpectatorPlump and polished, this red delivers ripe plum and currant flavors, with coffee, smoke and mineral notes that add a savory character. Well-integrated tannins impart structure. Solid and harmonious. Drink now through 2018. 10,000 cases made.
Wine AdvocateA clear step up in freshness and balance from the 2011 Crianza is the 2008 Reserva, an assemblage of Tempranillo with 10% Graciano that shows some flower aromas and ripe red and blue fruit fused with spicy aromas from the élevage. The palate is very harmonious with fully resolved tannins and good acidity resulting in a pleasant and tasty finish. 200,00 bottles produced. This year the varietal Mazuelo (aka Cariñena) surprised me and showed better than the 4 Varietales blend, usually the best of these special bottling.
