Stolpman Angeli 2012

SKU 41670

The 2012 Angeli is a quintessentially beautiful Syrah. Black & Kalamata olive nose with hints of blueberry. The body is aggressive and masculine while still retaining perfect balance and elegance. One can't help but savor each sip and enjoy the meaty, saline edge to the finish. If you do pop a bottle soon, decant it to be rewarded with wonderful complexity packed into this beautiful beast.

Wine AdvocateIn the same ballpark, the 2012 Angeli is 100% Syrah that comes from a single block of own rooted vines. It too is medium to full-bodied, rich and textured, with pretty violets, purple fruits, spring flowers and edgy minerality. Seeing 80% whole clusters and 18 months in puncheons, it has bright acidity and clean, nicely focused feel. It is another outstanding Syrah that will evolve for a decade.

Wine EnthusiastThere's a mysteriously attractive aromatic profile to this winery's top-end Syrah bottling, with violet perfume blending into blueberry syrup, anise and spearmint. The flavors are bold but not over the top, with lavender, dried berry leather and espresso combining into a seriously memorable wine.
