Jorge Ordonez Old Vines #3 2006 375ml

SKU 8194510087070

Naturally sweet. Brilliant golden color. Powerful and mature, with notes of nutmeg, peach jam and dried apricots together with undertones of hydrocarbons. Full-bodied, concentrated, very sweet, minerally, intense on retronasal, with nuances of minerals and candied fruit. Long finish with memories of citrus fruits.

Wine AdvocateThe 2006 Old Vines is late-harvested with the grapes dried in trays. It was fermented in new French oak with fermentation stopped by lowering the temperature when residual sugar was at 250 g/l. Dark amber-colored, it reveals intense candied tropical aromas, orange zest, tangerine, and a hint of ginger. Round, viscous, and long, it is a fine way to end a meal.

Wine SpectatorThis viscous white offers orange peel, honey, coconut and spice flavors, sweet, with just enough acidity to keep it lively. Not heavy, but intense. Moscatel. Drink now. 50 cases imported.

Wine EnthusiastOxidized and thick as a bull's neck, with apricot and funk on the nose. This is thick, sticky, unctuous stuff that tastes like canned peaches and orange extract. Grows on you the more time you spend with it, but it's on its own island with no row boat in sight.
